Master of Fine Arts Program Enrolls First Students The University of Central Oklahoma -- home to the first comprehensive creative writing program in Oklahoma -- now offers an M.F.A. in Creative Writing. UCO has been offering coursework in creative writing for almost forty years and has well established B.A. and M.A. programs in the field. Over the years, notable authors including James Dickey, Paul Engle, and Horton Foote have helped to shape the curriculum and to guide student writers at UCO. The Master of Fine Arts, UCO's new terminal degree program in creative writing, offers a range of courses designed to prepare students to become professional writers while also providing them with the skills and credentials to become university educators. Join The Student Advisory Board At the College of Liberal Arts, we continually strive to provide the best classes, instructors and facilities possible.
