Dr. Bartgis holds a B.A. and M.A. in Criminal Justice from UCO and a Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma. She worked as a police officer for fifteen years, first as a municipal officer and then as a state investigator for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. Dr. Bartgis' research interests are in the areas of intelligence and planning operations, comparative policing, and women in law enforcement.

Dr. Brown holds a B.A. in Education, a M.A. in Guidance & Counseling, and a J.D. in Law. Dr. Brown has a wide range of expertise within the field of Criminal Justice that include; Juvenile Parole officer and Court Referee, Juvenile Judge, Assistant Attorney General, and Professor/ Director of the Criminal Justice Program at the University of Central Oklahoma. Dr. Brown is active and participates with many different commissions and community activities which include; Ad Hoc member of Govenor Bellmon's Cabinet on Children, Board member of Okla. Supreme Court Juvenile Oversight Committee, Okla. Legislative Committee on Crime in Oklahoma, Okla. Legislative Committee on Sex Offenders, Okla. Legislative Committee on Mental Health Law, Rotary and Exchange Club.

Professor Chappell has a B.A. in psychology, M.A. in Criminal Justice, and is currently working on her dissertation at the University of Oklahoma. Her areas of focus while taking course work at OU were criminology, deviance, and sociology of the family, and gender. She teaches Intro to Sociology, Social Problems, Minorities in America, Sociology of Human Sexuality, and has taught Administration of Justice which covers the basics of policing, courts and corrections. Professor Chappell is an enthusiastic instructor and truly cares about the students at UCO.

Professor Christie received a B.A. in Political Science (1964), and an M.A. in Counseling in 1976. During 1987 to 2001 Professor Christie was a full time Substance Abuse therapist specializing in the family systems approach to intervention, treatment, and recovery from addiction. He also served as Clinical Supervisor for A Chance to Change Foundation from 1996 to 2001.Professor Christie has been an adjunct for UCO and OCCC for seven years. In 2003, Professor Christie was appointed coordinator for the substance abuse studies program.
Dr. Shawna Cleary

Dr. Shawna Cleary is an assistant professor in the department of Sociology Criminal Justice and Substance Abuse Studies at the University of Central Oklahoma. She completed her Ph.D. in Sociology at the University of Oklahoma, where her study emphases were Criminology and Gender. Her dissertation, which compared three samples of Oklahoma inmates, won the 2002 University of Oklahoma Ph.D. Dissertation Award. Dr. Cleary has presented her research on sex offenders and serial killers at the American Sociological Association, the American Society of Criminology, the Association for Crime Scene Reconstruction, the Society for the Study of Social Problems, and the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. Dr. Cleary's book Sex Offenders and Self-Control Explaining Sexual Violence was published by LFB Scholarly Publishing in September 2004.

Dr. Ford received a B.A. in Psychology - 1973, a M.S. in Sociology with an emphasis in Social Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Sociology with emphases in Social Gerontology and Sociology of the Family.
His research interests include demography of aging, program consultation, and program evaluation work on grants dealing with community and youth issues such as, drug and alcohol use/abuse and prevention and with building neighborhood coalitions to address those issues

Dr. Johnson received his Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University. He has authored two definitive works on writing in the discipline, The Sociology Student Writer's Manual and The Criminal Justice Student Writer's Manual. Dr. Johnson's area of interests are statistics, social psychology, social stratification, majority-minority relations, and sports and leisure. He is currently teaching Sociological Statistics and Social stratification.

Dr. Luxenburg received her Ed.D. from Columbia University. She has authored several publications including; Probation Casework: The Convergence of Theory with Practice (1983), "Prostitution" in the Encyclopedia of Women and Crime (2000), and "Women, AIDS, and the Criminal Justice System" in It's A Crime: Women and Justice(2002) . Dr. Luxenburg's research interests are in the areas of prostitution, gay rights, and AIDS .

Dr. McCoy recently retired after 20 years of service as a Deputy Inspector with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. Prior to his career at the Oklahoma State Bureau, he worked as a police officer for the Tulsa Police Department. He has investigated and supervised the investigation of all types of crime from homicide to public corruption. He has been Certified Forensic Computer Examiner since 1996 and during the last 4 years, he supervised the OSBI Computer Crime Unit and his focus has been on computer crime and the forensic examination of digital evidence. Dr. McCoy has a Masters Degree in Forensic Science and a Doctorate in Occupational and Adult Education. His research interests include the application of technology in law enforcement, computer forensics, computer crime, and law enforcement education and training.

Dr. Rashi Shukla is an assistant professor of Criminal Justice in the Department of Sociology, Criminal Justice and Substance Abuse Studies at UCO. Dr. Shukla received her Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice form UCO in 1994. She completed her Master's degree and Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from the School of Criminal Justice at Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey. Dr. Shukla's research interests include examining drug use and decision-making, drug policy, and white collar crime.

Dr. Steward joined the UCO faculty in 1998. He specializes in Social Movements/Collective Behavior, Social Deviance, Corrections and Penology, New Religious Movements, Sociological Methodology, Sociology of Religion, and Gerontology. As Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, Dr. Steward deals with a variety of student and building issues in the College.

Professor Williams has a B.A. in Journalism, Masters of Criminal Justice Administration, and post graduate hour in a M.Ed. Professor Williams has worked in a variety of different areas within the Criminal Justice field ranging from Juvenile Probation and Parole to Juvenile Justice Administrator. Her experience within the criminal justice field includes being a Coordinator of the Foster Care Review Boards, Drug/Alcohol Group therapist at St.Anthony's Care Unit, and as a domestic violence therapist. Professor Williams has also taught as an adjunct at the University of Oklahoma and Southern Nazarene University.
Professor Kathryn Williams has been employed full-time at UCO since 2001. She is presently teaching Introduction to Sociology and Deviance. She also is the coordinator for the U.S. Marshal's Co-op program, which provides paid scholarships to criminal justice student.
Williams is married, with two grown children.
