New Master of Fine Arts Program Enrolls First Students
The University of Central Oklahoma is home to the first comprehensive creative writing program in Oklahoma. UCO now offers an M.F.A. in Creative Writing. UCO has been offering coursework in creative writing for almost
40 years and has well established B.A. and M.A. programs. Over the years, notable authors including James Dickey, Paul Engle, and Horton Foote have helped shape the curriculum and guide student writers at UCO.
The Master of Fine Arts, UCO's new terminal degree program in creative writing, offers a range of courses designed to prepare students to become professional writers while also providing them with the skills and credentials to become university educators.
